Something happened last year, during our Living Room Tour of ‘My Name is Laverne'

To give context I have to take you back about 2 years or so ago. In lockdown, I gathered existing songs and wrote a bunch more and realised I had a story. Audiences have been compelled to share with us their own family stories of teenage pregnancies, forced adoptions, secret family members. The need to talk and share was surprising. So many people telling us ‘I’m the Laverne in your story.’ Or, that’s my aunt, or grandmother or mother’s story. It’s been incredibly moving and humbling to be let into people’s lives.
